ACM China SIGCSE Chapter Held the Enlarged Council Meeting and the SIGCSE China Symposium

ACM Turing Award 50 years China Conference (TURC 2017) was held on May 13, 2017, in Shanghai, China. ACM China SIGCSE Chapter hosted the SIGCSE China symposium in this conference. An enlarged council meeting of ACM China SIGCSE Chapter, including 32 members, was taken during the conference. This meeting was chaired by Professor Ming Zhang, the Chair of ACM China SIGCSE Chapter and the professor of Peking University. At the meeting, the council members reported the progresses in the last year and discussed the follow-up arrangements. Up to now, the number of ACM China SIGCSE Chapter members has reached 286.
2017 ACM SIGCSE Technical Symposium,at March 8-11 Seattle, USA

The 48th ACM Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE 2017) was held on March 8-11 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, USA. The theme of SIGCSE 2017 was "Inspire, Innovate, Improve!" aiming to inspire computing educators to innovate new teaching strategies, and to improve those strategies by engaging in the self-reflection and evaluation necessary to deliver the best possible learning outcomes for all.

Nine China ACM SIGCSE members from Peking University (Ming Zhang, Wenxin Li, Kaigui Bian and Qinjian Zhang), National University of Defense Technology (Juan Chen), University of Science and Technology of China (Yu Zhang), Northeast Normal University (Yanling Li), Hebei University (Shenggang Xiao) and China Machine Press (Lifang Wen) attended the conference.The Chinese delegation attended "CC2020: A Vision on Computing Curricula" panel to discuss the development of a global, futuristic computing overview curricular report called ACM/IEEE Computing Curricular 2020. The delegation also visited the Microsoft headquarters, and had an informal discussion with some Peking University Alumni in Microsoft to explore the computer education and other related topics.
Inauguration Ceremony and Academic Symposium of China ACM SIGCSE Chapter at Linyi University

On November 12, 2016, the inauguration ceremony and academic symposium of the China ACM SIGCSE Chapter were held at Linyi University. Professor Ming Zhang from Peking University, the first chair of the China ACM SIGCSE Chapter, launched the inauguration ceremony with Professor Bo Yang, the vice chair. At the inauguration ceremony, Professor Yunhao Liu, the chair of ACM China Council expressed his congratulations and awarded certificates to the head committee members of the China ACM SIGCSE Chapter, Chair Ming Zhang (Peking University), Vice Chair in duty Bo Yang (Linyi University), Vice Chair Xiaoqiu Shi (Wenzhou University), Secretary General Weidong Liu (Tsinghua University), Vice Secretary General Junlin Lu (Peking University), Vice Secretary General Hongbo Jiang (Huazhong University of Science and Technology), and Vice Secretary General Juan Chen (National University of Defense Technology). Over 60 members attended the ceremony.
